LMurrayLizette spent carefree childhood years in Stellenbosch and Paarl. After the completion of her studies in Stellenbosch, she became an Afrikaans teacher in Barrydale. She also taught at her alma mater, La Rochelle Girl’s High School, in Paarl.

 

She currently free lances for Lééf met hart en siel, a women’s magazine.
Her family is dear to her heart. She is happily married to George, an industrial engineer and is the mother of five boys. Her band of boys inspires her to write – especially childrens’ books, musicals, plays an operetta.

 

Gelukland, and its English version, Joyland, distributed by DALRO, is her best known childrens’ operetta. She also wrote Bibber Bobbejaantjie, a broadcasted adventure series for young children, which has now been published.

 

After the death of their middle child, Henri, in a shark attack Lizette wrote Henri stap aan, the story of their family’s faith, love and healing. The English version, Henri hikes home, was  published in May 2011, after repeated public demand.
